Tiramisu Desserts
Serves 12-16
No Fat, No Fuss
Ingredients
Espresso Syrup
1¼ cups hot water
2½ Tbsp instant espresso coffee
¼ cup sugar
2 Tbsp orange flavored liqueur or orange juice
Filling
1 4 oz pkg instant vanilla pudding mix
1½ cups skim milk
2 8 oz pgs Philadelphia Fat Free Cream Cheese
½ cup Breakstone's Fat Free Sour Cream
1 8 oz container Cool Whip Free Fat Whipped Topping
1 13 oz prepared angel food cake ring
1 Tbsp unsweetened cocoa powder
1 pint fresh strawberries
Directions
To prepare espresso syrup combine all ingredients, stirring, until sugar is dissolved; Set aside
To prepare filling, in medium bowl, beat pudding mix and milk for 2 minutes; let set 5 minutes
In large bowl, using same beaters, beat cream cheese and sour cream until smooth
Add pudding mixture and whipped topping; blend well
With serrated knife, cut angel food cake into thin even slices
Using half of the cake slices, one at a time, quickly dip cake slices into espresso syrup
Place in a single layer over the bottom of a 13x9-inch serving dish
Pour half the filling mixture over the top smoothing with a spatula
Evenly dust top with 1/2 tablespoon of cocoa
Slice strawberries and arrange in a single layer on top of cocoa
Repeat layers using remaining cake, espresso, filling and cocoa
Cover and chill
Before serving, garnish with fresh strawberries
Editors Note:
- If you find angel food cake loaves, they slice more easily and are the right size.
- If you can’t find espresso powder use instant coffee powder
