Crockpot Goulash
Hungarian Goulash
Yield: 4-5 servings
This is also nice cooked with potatoes and served with boiled, buttered
noodles.
Ingredients
Tbs. butter or margarine
3 cups thinly sliced onions
4 medium potatoes, peeled and quartered
1 1/2 lbs. chuck, rump, or round beef, cut into 1 inch cubes
2 1/4 tsp. salt
4 1/2 tsp. paprika
1 cup water
Directions
In a large skillet, over medium high heat, melt the butter and cook the onion until golden - 5-6 minutes
With a slotted spoon remove the onion to the slow cooker
Place the potatoes on the onion
Add meat to the skillet and saute until well browned on all sides
Sprinkle the meat with salt and pepper and lift into the slow cooker
Add the water to the skillet; scrape up the pan juices; turn into the cooker
Cover and cook on Low for 8-10 hours or until tender
